DUPAGE – A Bloomingdale man was arrested and charged with four counts of failing to file and pay sales and use taxes for his Lombard tobacco store, according to a release from the Illinois Department of Revenue.

Dr. Javed Bhojani is the owner of Smoke House Co., and was responsible for filing and paying taxes for his business, but has been indicted for four Class 3 felonies for failure to do so for November and December 2010 and January and February 2011. A representative for the Department of Revenue was unable to comment on how much he owed the state, only that each filing exceeded $300, classifying as a felony.

He was arrested by agents from the Department of Revenue, Illinois State Police and the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group. The warrant for his arrest was issued on June 11 and he was arrested on June 12 in his home. Bail is set at $50,000.
