Reid's Lemon-AID hosts Glen Ellyn basketball tournament for cancer research

GLEN ELLYN – More than 100 youths are expected to participate in Reid's Lemon-AID's 3-on-3 basketball tournament June 15 to benefit brain tumor research at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

The tournament will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Ackerman Sports and Fitness Center, 800 St. Charles Road, Glen Ellyn.

Children in fourth grade and older and adults are welcome to participate in teams of three to five players. The entry fee is $20, which includes a T-shirt.

The event will include free throw and three-point contests, in addition to the tournament. Teams may register at

Reid's Lemon-AID was founded in 2005 with children ranging from 5 to 12 years old. It started as a lemonade stand featured at various village events and has raised nearly $100,000 for the Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago since that time.
