BERWYN – There are only six more homes left that will be sold through Berwyn's Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) following a lottery held June 11.
Berwyn received a Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) grant from the State of Illinois, which was used to purchase 26 vacant and foreclosed homes across the city.
Names were drawn for three of the last nine homes available through the program in a lottery during the June 11 Committee of the Whole meeting.
By purchasing the homes, the city was able to eliminate potential blight within its neighborhoods, according to officials. The interior of the homes were rehabilitated to the point of the homes being move-in ready.
The homes are being sold to qualified individuals and families at discounted prices.
The remaining homes available through the lottery are located at 1434 East Ave., 1545 Home Ave., 1628 Cuyler Ave. 1841 Harvey Ave., 3341 Harvey Ave. and 3822 Ridgeland Ave.
