The Elmhurst Cougars 14U Red traveled to Batavia and started out the weekend with just nine players, but won the Batavia Memorial Day Tournament.
The team played tough in a no-hitter against the Frankfort Square Raptors. The Cougars split two games on Saturday and won two on Sunday to bring home the title.
Every player had at least one hit. Defense was the key as pitching arms began to tire going into the final game against the Geneva Vikings. The Cougars were able to eke out a 10-9 win.
