Elmhurst Cougars 14U Blue wins Memorial Day Tournament

Over Memorial Day weekend, the Elmhurst Cougars 14U Blue team went 5-1 to take home the title in the Gameday USA Stars and Strikes tournament in West Chicago.

The Cougars came back four times from deficits, including a seven-run comeback.

The journey started on Saturday, May 25, with a 5-4 win over the West Michigan Outlaws. The Cougars lost to the Crystal Lake Bombers 11-5 and followed that with a 6-4 winner against the Warrenville Warriors.

The next day's bracket play featured more tight games. The Cougars opened bracket play with a 9-7 quarterfinal win over the St. Charles North Stars in nine innings.

A semifinal rematch against the Crystal Lake Bombers followed and this time the contest went to the Cougars with a 9-7 win after trailing the Bombers 7-0 in the fourth inning. The boys capped off the tournament with a 7-5 win over the Elgin Warriors to claim the championship.
