Chicago resident charged with trying to lure child in Brookfield
BROOKFIELD – A Chicago resident has been charged after allegedly attempting to lure a child in Brookfield on Saturday evening, police said.
Mykola Pototskyi, 27, of the 5300 block of Mayfield Avenue in Chicago was charged with two counts of child abduction and one count of aggravated assault with a vehicle, police said. Both charges are Class 4 felonies, police said.
A witness told officers that a charcoal-colored car was observed at Rockefeller and Hollywood avenues at about 7:12 p.m. Saturday with its hazard lights on; the driver was seen speaking with two children, ages 7 and 5, police said. The witness knew the children and approached the car, police said.
