DARIEN – The Darien Lions Club is looking for bike riders for the organization’s 42nd annual Independence Day parade, which kicks off at 9:30 a.m. July 4 from Hinsdale South High School, 7401 South Clarendon Hills Road.

Youngsters are invited to express what they like about their community and the U.S. by decorating their bikes and entering them in the parade. Trophies will be awarded by the Lions Club for the best-decorated boys’ and girls’ bicycles.

Children and their decorated bikes should be at the parade lineup at 8:30 a.m. at the Hinsdale South High School parking lot. The parade will proceed north on Clarendon Hills Road, west on Plainfield Road, then west on 75th Street to Eisenhower Junior High.

After the parade, the Darien Historical Society will serve ice cream and lemonade outside the Old Lace School, 75th Street and Cass Avenue.
