Hinsdale Police Department issues citations during enforcement initiative
HINSDALE – In an effort to save lives and reduce serious injuries, the Hinsdale Police Department, along with thousands of law enforcement agencies across the country, participated in an enforcement initiative to crackdown on drunken and unbelted drivers.
During the aggressive enforcement period from May 10 through 27, three drivers were charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, 69 were issued citations for failing to wear their safety belts and 42 were cited for speeding.
One citation was issued for unlawful possession of marijuana, one citation was issued for possession of drug paraphernalia, one citation was issued for failure to restrain a child, two citations were issued to juveniles for underage consumption of alcohol, one citation was issued to a juvenile for curfew violation and 58 citations were issued to drivers for other Illinois Vehicle Code violations.
