Bolingbrook Relay For Life raises over $103K for cancer research

BOLINGBROOK – Residents, business leaders and community officials gathered at the Bolingbrook Town Center Saturday for the American Cancer Society's 10th annual Bolingbrook Relay For Life celebration.

The 25 participating local teams raised more than $103,000, all of which will go toward Relay For Life and cancer research.

Saturday's event was a climactic capstone of their efforts, as the 278 participants camped out over night and members from each team take turns walking around the assembled track.

"When participants walk to end cancer at a Relay event, it's an opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what people can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the world's largest walk to end cancer," according to the American Cancer Society website.
