RIVERSIDE – A Riverside gang member who was allegedly selling cannabis to juveniles was charged Friday after a three-month investigation.

Victor M. Sanchez, 18, of the 7200 block of West Ogden Avenue, was charged with felony manufacture and delivery of cannabis, felony possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia after police arrested him around 2 p.m. Friday at his residence, according to a release from police.

The West Suburban Enhanced Drug and Gang Enforcement Task Force began an investigation in March that led to the arrest of Sanchez, an admitted Two Six gang member, police said.

“This is a significant arrest as Mr. Sanchez was selling cannabis to juveniles and adults that drove to the Riverside address from Berwyn, Chicago, Lyons, Summit, Justice and several DuPage County communities," Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel said in the release.

Area residents helped police by reporting suspicious vehicles and people who were loitering in the area, according to police.
