West Chicago priest imprisoned for sex abuse released on parole
WEST CHICAGO – A West Chicago priest has been released on parole after serving about 80 percent of a four-year prison sentence for abusing a St. Charles boy, according to reports from the Associated Press.
Alejandro Flores, 40, pleaded guilty in 2010 to felony criminal sexual abuse after his relationship with a 13-year-old from St. Mary's Catholic Parish in West Chicago was investigated, the Associated Press reports.
Although Flores was released on parole, he is in federal custody on his way to a detention center to determine his immigration status, according to the Associated Press. He could be deported to Bolivia, where he is from, and now must register as a sex offender as well.
