Man beaten while waiting for wife

BERWYN – Three men were charged with battery and mob action for assaulting a 24-year-old Berwyn man who was parked in his car while waiting for his wife at 2:14 p.m. June 5.

The victim was parked in the 6500 block of West Cermak Road when he saw the men approach his wife as she exited a doctor’s office. The woman got in the car and the three men continued to bother the woman. Her husband got out of the car and the three men began punching him in the head and face.

A Berwyn Community Service Officer observed the assault and switched on his siren in an effort to stop the attack, and the three men ran. Police were called, and searched the area and saw two of the men matching a description given by the Community Service Officer run into two buildings in the 2200 block of South Scoville Avenue.

Charged were Darius J. Johnson, 19, and Michael J. White, 22, both of the 2200 block of South Scoville Avenue.

Jarvis J. Alexander, 18, of the 5400 block of West Hirsch Street, Chicago, also was charged.
