Benet Academy names top students from Class of 2013

LISLE – Benet Academy is proud to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2013.

The valedictorian for the Class of 2013 is Christian Yon of Naperville.

"Yon’s academic performance here at Benet has earned him the distinction of being ranked first in his class with a cumulative grade point average of 99.35 percent," according to a release from Benet. "This is especially impressive given his active participation in a variety of school activities. At Benet he has been on the soccer team, served as a Peer Leader, and participated in the Guitar Club, the Medical Club, and Outreach activities."

Next year he will be commencing his collegiate studies at Georgetown, where he intends to pursue a pre-med major in biology.

The salutatorian for the Class of 2013 is Abigail Gerth of Addison.

Gerth has attained this recognition by sustaining a cumulative grade point average of 99.25 percent during her previous seven semesters at Benet.

"Moreover, she has been an active participant in a variety of extracurricular organizations, starting with behind-the-scenes efforts for drama productions and choir during her freshman year and including the National Honor Society, the Recycling Club, Art Club, and softball," the release stated.

Next year she will be attending the University of Illinois and majoring in engineering.
