Nonprofit group helps form home improvement firm for seniors
BROOKFIELD – The flooding that struck the western suburbs in April caused major problems for many property owners.
It also created opportunities for scam artists posing as home improvement contractors to take advantage of people who don’t know better. Among the most vulnerable to this kind of fraud are senior citizens.
This is one of the reasons that officials with Cantata Adult Life Services in Brookfield joined with two other nonprofit organizations to form PrimeLife Home Improvement. The firm specializes in providing reliable and trusted handymen and contractors to seniors who wish to remain living in their homes, said Amy Selle, Cantata’s director of marketing.
