Maywood man killed after walking into Cicero Avenue traffic

CICERO – A 43-year-old Maywood man was struck and killed by a vehicle after he stumbled into traffic on Cicero Avenue June 5, police reported.

Witnesses said James P. Kitchen, of the 1800 block of South 9th Avenue, was seen walking with a woman on the sidewalk on Cicero Avenue near 24th Place when he stumbled off of the sidewalk onto the street and was struck by a passing vehicle causing severe head injuries.

A traffic investigation continues pending toxicology reports.
