ELMHURST – The recent "Strides Against MG" charity walk in Berens Park drew more than 170 walkers and volunteers even under gray skies.

The early June walk raised nearly $8,500 for the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois. Myasthenia gravis is a disabling autoimmune disease that causes fluctuating weakness. It can affect muscles that control eye movements, chewing, swallowing, breathing, facial expressions, arms and legs.

The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois has been providing patient support, education and research funding for more than 40 years. For more information, visit myastheniagravis.org or call 800-888-6208.
