WOODRIDGE – The 30th annual Woodridge Jubilee will be held through Sunday at the corner of Woodridge and Center drives.
In addition to the food, musical acts, a carnival and kids’ activities, new events have been added to this year’s Jubilee, organized by the village of Woodridge and the Woodridge Park District.
The festival additions include a bean bag tournament to benefit Special Olympics. Registration begins at noon Saturday for teams of two at $50 a team.
Also new for 2013 is the Colonial Cafe Ice Cream Contest, which will feature children and adult categories and a cash prize.
“We try to add new events to keep it fresh,” said Megan Pettit, marketing manager for the park district.
Musical performances this year include acts from Wayne Baker Brooks, The Greatest Band Ever, Neverly Brothers and Infinity.
The annual Fireworks Spectacular also will return, beginning at 10:30 p.m.
Parking will be available at the Town Centre at 7101 Woodridge Drive and the Community Center at 2600 Center Drive.
Extra parking will be available in the grass lot on Woodridge Drive, near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 7201 Woodridge Drive.
