Elmhurst College to host gubernatorial candidate

ELMHURST – All are invited to see Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner speak at Elmhurst College as part of an upcoming lecture series on improving Illinois.

Rauner, who formally announced his campaign for governor Wednesday, calls his lecture "Making Illinois Work Again." Rauner retired from his chairman position at GTCR, a private equity firm he helped found, last fall. He has never run for office before.

Rauner's talk begins at 7 p.m. June 17 in the Founders Lounge of the Frick Center, 190 Prospect Ave. The free event is the first in the series titled "Fixing Illinois: A Great State's Problems and Promise."
