Cicero man burns clothes in apartment, charged

CICERO – A landlord and tenant dispute ended with the tenant setting fire to a pile of his clothes in his apartment at 5:30 a.m. June 4.

Officers were called to the 2200 block of South Austin Avenue and learned that Martin G. Hernandez, 40, had returned home intoxicated, piled up his clothes and started them on fire.

Hernandez was transported to the hospital for treatment and subsequently charged with reckless conduct following an investigation by the Cicer Fire Department's arson investigator and the State of Illinois Fire Marshall

Hernandez is scheduled to appear in Maybrook Court at 9 a..m. July 2.
