Lombard Main Street construction project begins

Published: Tuesday, June 4, 2013 12:52 p.m. CDT

LOMBARD – A rehabilitation project along Main Street began Tuesday morning and is expected to continue for about the next two months. During construction, there will be intermittent lane closures and rerouted traffic, but the street will remain open for the duration of the project.

Construction will be completed between Roosevelt Road and 15th Street. Most side streets will be open during this time, except for 13th Place, which will be closed to traffic during the first four weeks of the project.

This rehabilitation project will replace all curbs and gutters and concrete pavement and partially replace driveway aprons.

Residents living in the construction zone will not be able to access their driveways during curb replacement and roadway paving, so parking permits will be given to these residents.

Any questions about the project can be directed to the Public Works Department by calling 630-620-5740.
