Lemont soccer comes up short in Class 2A state semifinal

Published: Friday, May 31, 2013 12:39 p.m. CDT

NAPERVILLE – The Lemont's girls soccer team will have to wait at least another year for a shot at the program's first-ever state championship.

Competing in the Class 2A state semifinals Friday, the Indians lost 3-1 to Prairie Ridge and thus will play in Saturday's third-place match at 11 a.m.

Kim Jerantowski scored Lemont's lone goal, off a cornerkick from Aleksandra Mihailovic in the second half, to slice the deficit to 2-1.

The Indians fell to 21-4-2 on the spring.
