Fenwick soccer drops state semifinal to Glenwood

Late goal sends Friars to third place match

NAPERVILLE – The Fenwick girls soccer team lost in the Class 2A state semifinal to Glenwood on Friday.

The Friars lost 2-1 after conceding a breakaway goal by Brendel Marshall with less than 12 minutes remaining.

Fenwick scored first, but Glenwood equalized before halftime.

The Friars will play Lemont, a 3-1 loser to Prairie Ridge in the other semifinal, for third place at 11 a.m. Saturday at North Central College.
