CICERO - There's going to be a firefighter auction Friday.

That's right, anyone who has a desire to own their own fireman can do so – even though it's only for a night.

The 4th annual Firefighter Date Auction is set for 7 p.m. at Mahoney's, 551 N. Ogden Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are on sale now for $30, which includes drinks and food. Tickets can be purchased at www.mahoneyspubchicago.com.

Firefighters up for auction include some from departments in Cicero, Stickney, Westchester and Alsip.

A total of 17 firemen from Alsip, Berkeley, Blue Island, Chicago, Cicero, Plainfield, Robbins, Stickney, Westchester, and one volunteer firefighter are being offered for a date.

Returning firefighters from last year's event include Lt. John McClement of Stickney, and firefighters Andy Michaels, Brad Erickson and Joe Belgio from Cicero.

Donations can be made at www.relayforlife.org. Click 'Donate,' and then search for team "Extinguishing Cancer."

All proceeds from the event go to the Relay for Life Team Extinguishing Cancer benefiting the American Cancer Society. This year's goal is $8,000.
