Lombard residents place at Midwest Memorial tennis tournament

OKEMOS, MI – Kolie Allen and Priscilla Palermo, both of Glen Westlake Junior High, in Lombard recently competed in the United States Tennis Association Midwest Level 3 Memorial Day Weekend Tournament.

Allen, a seventh grader, made the quarterfinals before losing. Allen also won the doubles tournament with Emily Casati of Deerfield. The pair won five matches including a quarterfinal win over Palermo and Stephanie Dolehide.

Palermo, an eighth grader, lost in the first round, but won her next five matches to claim the consolation title.

The contest took place at Michigan State University and consisted of 64 players in the five Midwest Region states.
