Several Glen Ellyn streets to close Monday for Hoof it for Hephzibah

GLEN ELLYN – Several streets in Glen Ellyn will be closed on Monday for the 2013 Hoof it for Hephzibah run, according to a news release from the Glen Ellyn Police Department.

Registration for the run will begin at 7 a.m. at Newton Park, 707 Fairview Ave., with the run set to start at 8 a.m. The following roads will close for between one and two hours during the run:

• Fairview Avenue between Bryant Avenue and Park Boulevard
• Bryant Avenue between Route 53 and Walnut Street
• Hillside Avenue between Montclair and Longfellow avenues
• Longfellow Avenue between Hillside Avenue and Walnut Street
• Walnut Street between Longfellow and Carleton avenues
• Carleton Avenue between Walnut and Duane streets
• Duane Street between Taylor and Longfellow avenues
• Taylor Avenue between Duane Street and Hillside Avenue
• Taylor Avenue between Wingate and Revere roads
• Montclair Avenue between Hillside Avenue and Wingate Road
• Wingate Road between Montclair and Bryant avenues
• Revere Road between Taylor and Bryant avenues

The run route will be staffed by police officers and volunteers during the event, which benefits Hephzibah Children's Association, an organization based in Oak Park.

Hephzibah provides short- and long-term group homes for abused and neglected children, day care, foster care and other family services, according to the organization's website.
