Indian Boundary YMCA's 13th annual Commit to be Fit Race is June 2

DOWNERS GROVE – Participants can register now for the 13th annual Indian Boundary YMCA Commit to be Fit Race on June 2.

The race is a CARA Certified looped 5K and 10K walk or run course. The course is flat and fast on paved streets winding through the tree-lined neighborhoods of Downers Grove.

The 5K will complete one lap while the 10K will complete two laps. Bikes and dogs are not allowed in the race. Runners with strollers may participate but must line up and start behind the runners.

For beginners, there is also a kiddie dash and 1-mile walk or run. The kiddie dash is free for all children 6 and under and starts at 9:30 am.

The 1 mile fun walk or run is open to all ages and starts at 9:45 a.m.

Pre-registration includes a t-shirt and is $10, no awards are given.

Water stations will be available at the start, finish and on the course. All miles are clearly marked with mile markers and split time clocks. A post race celebration will include music, drinks and food.

Awards will be presented to overall 5K/10K male and female winners and awards to top three male and female runners or walkers in each age category.

Lavatory facilities will be available and babysitting will be open from 7:30 to 9 a.m.A fee will be charged for non-YMCA members.
