VILLA PARK – Villa Park police are urging residents and children to be cautious following an incident of attempted child luring on Thursday morning.

Police said a 13-year-old girl encountered the alleged suspect about 8 a.m. near Terrace Street and Westmore Avenue. The man appeared to be intoxicated and asked the victim if she had any money, then offered her drugs and grabbed her by the arm, police said.

The suspect is described as a 50-year-old Hispanic man, standing at 5-feet-2-inches tall and overweight. He has black hair that is shaved into a buzz cut with an unshaven face and hairy arms. He was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt, and could possibly be a painter by trade.

Community members are asked to be on the look out for the suspect and to report any suspicious activity to the police by calling 911.
