DOWNERS GROVE – American Legion Post 80 will host its parade and services commemorating Memorial Day on Monday in several locations across Downers Grove.

The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a memorial service in front of the post, 4000 Saratoga Ave.

From 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., the post's honor guard will visit six area cemeteries to salute fallen veterans.

The annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at Main Street and the railroad tracks at 10:45 a.m. and head south to Fishel Park. The Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the park and features Mayor Martin Tully as one of the speakers.

"It's a pretty lengthy, and we've been told, a very moving ceremony," said American Legion Post 80 member Joe Pappalardo.

He said it should conclude around noon.
