WESTMONT – The Westmont Police and Fire departments' annual Kid's Safety Preparedness Camp is approaching.

The camp is scheduled for June 18-19, July 24-25 and Aug. 14-15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Sessions are held at the fire department headquarters, 6015 S. Cass Ave.

The free camp gives 8-, 9- and 10-year-olds "time to spend with local heroes" and an opportunity for them to "increase their knowledge of all aspects of safety," according to a release.

Applicants must be of the designated ages and must either be a resident of Westmont, attend school in Westmont or participate in Westmont-based Scout or Brownie groups.

To sign up, call 630-981-6402 or email chardy@westmont.il.gov.
