Autre Monde partners with farm to bring seasonal, organic produce to residents

BERWYN – Autre Monde Cafe & Spirits in Berwyn announced it will partner with Montalbano Farms in Sandwich, Il, to become the first Berwyn location to offer a community supported agriculture program (CSA) allowing local residents to purchase a share of the farms’ produce and pick it up at  Autre Monde on a weekly or bi-weekly basis on Thursday afternoons.

To enroll, residents should go directly to www.montalbanofarms.com, and sign up.  A variety of fruits and vegetables will be available.

There is also a low income option, so that all residents who are interested may access the program regardless of income.

Autre Mode owner Christine Tully Aranza said she and her husband, John, and staff felt strongly that their mission needed to extend past what they put on the plate at the restaurant, to what is available for residents to cook at home.  Montalbano’s mission to focus on CSA and its role in the health of communities and the land fit perfectly with this vision.

Montalbano Farms is run by husband and wife team, Christine and Rob Montalbano.

Autre Monde is located at 6727 W. Roosevelt Road, and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.  Brunch is offered on Sundays from 10 to 2 p.m.

Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling  708-775-8122 or visiting www.autremondecafe.
