Sandra Martin, Nina McCabe retiring from District 53

OAK BROOK – Two long-time administrators are retiring from Butler School District 53 this summer: Superintendent Sandra Martin and Brook Forest Principal Nina McCabe.

The community is invited to a reception to honor them from 3 to 6 p.m. May 30 in the Butler Junior High Multi-Purpose Room, 2801 York Road, Oak Brook. Current and past teachers, students, parents and community members are all invited.

Martin has served as superintendent since 2003 and McCabe has served since 2006.

Martin began her career as an English and theater teacher, and moved through the ranks as English department chairwoman, director of instruction and assistant superintendent prior to coming to Butler.

McCabe has served as a primary school teacher, reading consultant, curriculum developer and a principal at three different school systems.
