Four motorcycle crashes reported in 6 days in Bolingbrook, Romeoville

Police are investigating four motorcycle crashes over a six-day span in Bolingbrook and Romeoville that they say are unrelated.

Some of the victims were critically injured, but no injuries are expected to be life-threatening, police said.

The first crash occurred just before 10 p.m. May 14, when a 20-year-old Bolingbrook man was traveling southbound on Route 53 when his Kawasaki motorcycle struck a minivan traveling north on Route 53, attempting to turn left onto Boughton Road, police said.

Five days later, two motorcycle crashes occurred within 10 minutes of one another in neighboring Bolingbrook and Romeoville, according to police.

About 7:17 p.m. Sunday, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with an Isuzu Rodeo near the intersection of Weber and Taylor roads, according to the Romeoville Police Department.

Ten minutes later, about 7:27 p.m. Sunday, a 44-year-old Bolingbrook man lost control and crashed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle near the intersection of Riverside and Olympic drives, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in this incident, Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa said.

Charges are pending as an investigation continued Tuesday.

The latest motorcycle accident came about 2:42 p.m. Monday, when a 26-year-old Woodridge man and 23-year-old Woodridge woman were traveling northbound on Route 53 near Boughton Road. Their motorcycle struck the passenger side of a van turning eastbound onto Boughton Road, from Route 53, police said.
