VILLA PARK – Classes weren't in session, but Willowbrook High School was packed on Saturday with students and community volunteers who worked with the senior classes at Willowbrook and Addison Trail high schools to host a Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack event.

During this event, 429 volunteers helped pack 108,864 meals that will be shipped throughout the world and distributed to malnourished children.

To host the Mobile Pack event, student leaders from Willowbrook and Addison Trail came together to coordinate fundraising projects and recruit volunteers. In order to pack 100,000 meals, the students needed to raise the $22,000 necessary to purchase the food.

The final payment is not due for several weeks, so donations are still being accepted on the fundraising page at d88fmsc.com.
