HINSDALE – The home of state Sen. Kirk Dillard, R-Hinsdale, was reported burglarized this past March.

The burglary took place between 7:15 and 9:30 p.m. while the home was unoccupied. According to police reports, someone broke in through the back door and jewelry was taken from the bedrooms.

Dillard's home is just one of the five residential burglaries that have occurred in HInsdale since the start of 2013.

During a Zoning and Public Safety Committee meeting earlier this year, Hinsdale Police Chief Bradley Bloom said reports of burglaries have been unusually high. Bloom has consistently reminded residents to be aware of their surroundings and if they see something, say something.
