LOMBARD – The village's annual Lilac Time festivities will come to a close this Sunday with the Lilac Parade, scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. near Main Street and Wilson Avenue and snake throughout the village.

This year's parade is themed "Nostalgia of the '60s, '70s and '80s" and will feature floats and entries from many community groups, along with this year's Lilac Queen, Megan Cotteril, and the Lilac Princesses. The late Village President Bill Mueller was designated as the honorary parade marshall and his family will participate in the parade in his honor.

Other Lilac Time events happening this weekend include the Kiwanis Housewalk throughout the day Friday, and a beer tasting at Lilacia Park from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

On Saturday, the Lilac Time Mutt Strut 5K begins at Lilacia Park at 8 a.m. Throughout the day Saturday, there will be food and family events for children, and in the evening will be a wine tasting event at the park.
