‘KIDZ Squad’ encouraging healthy eating among youth
As part of the Woodridge Park District’s commitment to strengthen our community by addressing health, nutrition and wellness initiatives through education and active participation, our “KIDZ Squad” after-school program has implemented an exciting new program for the children.
The newly created “Marathon Club” curriculum encourages children and their families to commit to forming healthy habits. The curriculum is funded by a grant received from the DuPage County Health Department in conjunction with the “FORWARD” (Fighting Obesity Reaching healthy Weight Among Residents of DuPage) initiative.
The program has three target goals: fitness, nutrition and limited screen time.
