DOWNERS GROVE – A 28-foot long, 12-foot wide and 11.5-foot tall Idaho potato will make an appearance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the new Shop and Save Market at 7241 Lemont Road in Downers Grove.

The Great Big Idaho Potato Truck is on a seven-month cross-country trip to visit 72 cities in 28 states to help raise funds for Meals on Wheels, the non-profit organization that delivers more than a million meals a day to homebound seniors.

The truck totes both the giant potato and food donations.

During its stop in town, it will give a month's supply of Idaho potatoes to the DuPage Senior Citizens Council, a food provider for Meals on Wheels.
