Motorcycle crash leaves Bolingbrook man in critical condition

BOLINGBROOK – A Bolingbrook man is in critical condition after his motorcycle collided with a minivan Tuesday night, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.

A 20-year-old Bolingbrook man was traveling southbound on Route 53 when his Kawasaki motorcycle collided with a Toyota minivan about 9:52 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The 50-year-old female minivan driver was traveling north on Route 53, attempting to turn left onto Boughton Road when the collision occurred, police said.

The male was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital, according to Bolingbrook Police Lt. Mike Rompa. He sustained severe, internal injuries and remains in critical condition, Rompa said Wednesday morning.

No additional injuries were reported, according to police.

The Bolingbrook Police Traffic Division is currently investigating the crash and closed the intersection for several hours, finally re-opening the area to normal traffic about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
