LA GRANGE – Lyons Township boys volleyball sealed up the outright West Suburban Silver title with a sweep of Oak Park River Forest on Tuesday.

The Lions finished a perfect 6-0 in Silver matches with the 25-23, 25-17 victory over the Huskies.

LT used its height to win numerous points via blocks. Aidan Spangler had a team high five blocks.

Marko Kostich had 18 assists for the Lions. Gabe Fisher, Kyle Smuda and Rob Watkins each had five kills.

“Overall, we seem to be feeling good about our play,” said LT coach Joann Pyritz. “Even though there are things we can improve upon as we go, we seem to be playing well together. We’re getting scoring from a lot of different hitters, which makes us a good team.”

The Lions are the No. 1 seed in the Proviso West sectional. Postseason play begins next week.

“The first step to performing well in state playoffs is to win your own conference,” Pyritz said.
