La Grange accident victim listed in good condition

OAK LAWN – Michael Rende, 20, was listed in good condition May 15 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was airlifted May 4 after an accident involving three fellow Indiana University students on their way home.

Rende, of La Grange, initially faced life-threatening injuries after being ejected from the vehicle carrying the four students, which blew a tire on Interstate 65. The accident killed John J. Malone, Jr., 20, of River Forest.

Jacob Newman, 20, of La Grange, was not injured. The driver, Mario Guagliado, 20, of Deerfield, was treated at Jasper County Hospital in Indiana.
