Bolingbrook Cops: Two men try to lure B.J. Ward student into van

BOLINGBROOK – Two men allegedly tried to lure a B.J. Ward Elementary School student into a vehicle about noon Tuesday, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.

During lunch Tuesday, two white male subjects allegedly tried to coerce a student into a van when they were about 100 yards away from the victim, police said.

Bolingbrook police were notified of the incident and are conducting an investigation and trying to clarify the facts, Lt. Mike Rompa said in an email.

Valley View School District followed protocol Tuesday and sent parents an email detailing the incident, Valley View School Board members confirmed.
