Woman charged with attempted murder following stabbing at Cicero party

CICERO – Police in Cicero have charged Yoehta Brown, of the 100 block of North Long Avenue, in Chicago with attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed another woman multiple times at a party in Cicero Sunday night.

Police responded to the Shamrock Motel, 1212 S. Cicero Ave., around 2:24 a.m. Police said Brown was involved in an argument with the victim and had stabbed her with a 5-inch folding knife in the chest, neck, arms, hands and back.

According to police, the victim was in serious condition when they arrived; her injuries included a punctured lung. The victim remains in serious condition.

Police said they found Brown hiding in another room at the motel.

Brown is to appear at the Maybrook Courthouse in Maywood on May 21 for a preliminary hearing.
