WEST CHICAGO – Fans of the hit TV show "Downton Abbey" won't want to miss the West Chicago Public Library District's Downton Abbey Afternoon Tea and Lecture on Saturday.

The event will feature an authentic English afternoon tea and a lecture by landscape historian Barbara Geiger. Geiger will discuss the rise and fall of English aristocratic families and why estates like Downton Abbey, the real-life Highclere Castle, look the way they do.

The tea and lecture will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the main program room of the library, 118 W. Washington St. The event is free to the public, but registration is required due to limited space. Those interested should register at www.westchicago.lib.il.us or 630-231-1552.
