Villa Park police investigating robbery

VILLA PARK – Detectives from the Villa Park Police Department are investigating an incident of strong-armed robbery that occurred at 5:27 a.m. Sunday near Westmore Avenue and Elm Street.

According to a news release, police responded to the area where they met with a taxi driver who said he had been called there to pick up a customer. While he was waiting, he was approached by three men, who allegedly pulled the victim to the ground, kicked him in the face several times and took his wallet.

This incident is currently under investigation by the police department. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 630-834-7447.
