Man struck and killed by car in Lyons

LYONS – A man staying at the Presidential Inn, 3822 Harlem Ave., in Lyons was struck and killed by a car Friday, May 10, police reported.

The man was struck as a car pulled out of a gas station, located at 39th Street and Harlem Avenue, at about 10:06 p.m., police said.

Lyons Police Chief Harley Schinker said it was unclear whether the man walked in front of the car, or if he was hit while crossing the street. The accident is still under investigation.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
