Elmhurst police crack down on seat belts, drunken driving

Published: Friday, May 10, 2013 4:49 p.m. CDT

ELMHURST – The 2013 Illinois "Click It or Ticket" campaign kicks off today and continues through Memorial Day weekend.

Elmhurst police will join the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police and more than 500 local law enforcement agencies throughout the state to save lives by strongly enforcing safety belt and DUI laws, as part a yearlong grant from IDOT.

Police remind drivers to make alternate driving arrangements if they plan on drinking and to contact police if they believe a driver is intoxicated.
