Published: Thursday, May 9, 2013 5:48 a.m. CST

DOWNERS GROVE – Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital has received the platinum quality award from the Midas quality review organization for the sixth year in a row.

The award is given to organizations that rank in the top 5 percent of more than 650 hospitals evaluated by the Midas group. Hospitals are compared to other hospitals of similar size on their 2011 performance in quality outcomes, care efficiency and consistent delivery of evidence-based best practices in nursing and medicine.

Good Samaritan joins three other Advocate hospitals – Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest – recognized with the same award.

Midas collects and submits quality measurements to The Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
