Burr Ridge to celebrate Armed Forces Day May 18

BURR RIDGE – In honor of the men and women of the military forces, the Burr Ridge Veterans Memorial Committee will celebrate Armed Forces Day at 10 a.m. May 18 at Burr Ridge Veterans Memorial, 7700 County Line Road.

This year's ceremony will include live musical selections courtesy of the West Suburban Conference Band, presentation of the inaugural Patriot Award and a keynote address by Colonel (Ret.) Jill Morgenthaler.

Guests of all ages also can get up close with a variety of military vehicles.

Everyone is invited to stay for cake, coffee, lemonade and ice cream immediately following the ceremony, which typically lasts about one hour.
