Willowbrook claims 4 event titles at Gold girls track finale

VILLA PARK – Willowbrook picked up four wins at the West Suburban Gold girls track and field meet Friday.

The Warriors placed third in the team standings with 118 points as hosts of the meet.

The 4 x 400-meter relay team of Taylor Burton, Kayla Denwood, Colleen Krawczykowski and Molly Krawczykowski picked up first place by finishing in 4:10.01. All four of those athletes succeeded on individual events, as well.

Molly Krawczykowski won the 800-meter run and took third in the 400, sister Colleen was second in the 300-meter hurdles and the long jump, Burton won the 400 and Denwood was fourth in the 800.

Denwood teamed up with Britannia Horn, Shannon Jones and Ashley Krause to finish as runners-up in the 4 x 800.

Jada Stills was the Warriors’ other winner. Stills won the discus and was also second in the shot put.

Third-place finishers were Shannon Jones (1,600) and Marisa Klaassen (high jump. Fourth-place finishers included Bryanna Daniele (discus, shot put) and Kathrene Garcia (3,200).
