OAK BROOK – Guests can explore musical instruments and help choose the music during the “Music Can Tell a Story” family concert from noon to 2 p.m. May 18 at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st St. in Oak Brook.

The performance group Fifth House Ensemble will lead this afternoon for ages 4 to 12. The event will begin with a "musical instrument petting zoo," where young musicians can try string instruments, make straw oboes and listen to notes produced from bottles filled with water.

Fifth House Ensemble will demonstrate how instruments, melodies and rhythms can help music tell a story and will then have participants choose the music that will accompany an original story.

Adults must accompany all children. Tickets are $8 a person and available by calling Mayslake Peabody Estate at 630-206-9566.
